Brad is a professional mental health counselor in training and a current graduate student at Grand Canyon University. He graduated from Grand Canyon University, located in Phoenix, Arizona, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with Emphasis on Sport and Performance. As a part of this program, he completed a research proposal exploring the positive effects of strenuous physical activity and therapy as a means toward healing from various traumas. Brad then realized the importance of movement in nature as a healing component. It offers opportunities to practice mindfulness, acceptance of what is, goal setting, and problem-solving, while simultaneously recognizing and accepting thoughts and emotions without judgement.
Previously, Brad has worked for many years as a Paramedic with several Emergency Medical Services, in a variety of settings, as well as air medical transport. It was during these years that he learned how to be present with individuals and family members during difficult circumstances. He provided calming, empathetic, accepting, non-judgmental, and supportive care. His approach to therapy utilizes similar components and is client-centered.
In his personal time, Brad enjoys spending time on the trails riding his mountain bike, training for the next big trail race, strength training, or reading biographies.
