About

Alexandra “Alex” Cloyd (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Texas State University and earned her Master of Social Work at the University of Denver in 2019.

With a diverse background, Alex originally started working with youth experiencing homelessness four years prior to obtaining her master’s degree. With her Master’s degree in hand, she continued to gain extensive experience across various levels of care, including outpatient adolescent and family therapy, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), partial hospitalization programs (PHP), and providing parent coaching support.

Alex is deeply passionate about empowering her clients to fully experience the present moment. She firmly believes in the capacity for human growth and learning at any stage in life. Her approach to therapy emphasizes inclusivity, with a particular focus on supporting teens and young adults within the LGBTQ community. Alex uses humor and validation as therapeutic tools, while also striving to maintain an honest and straightforward communication style with her clients.

Outside of her professional life, Alex enjoys reading fantasy romances, particularly series like A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) and Throne of Glass (TOG), snuggling with her two dogs, watching reality TV with her husband, and indulging her creative side with craft supplies.
