Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT)

Are you quietly suffering from loneliness, feelings of shame, or embarrassment? Let us help you create a life worth sharing.

What is RO DBT Therapy?

RO-DBT, or Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy, was created by Thomas R. Lynch, PhD in 2018 by adapting the evidence-based treatment of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). While Marsha Linehan, PhD initially created standard DBT to treat people who are struggling with pervasive emotional dysregulation and impulsive behaviors; RO-DBT is customized for treating people who are struggling with “maladaptive overcontrol” – that is, people with excessive self-control, rigidity, and social inhibition.

Do you suffer from loneliness or social isolation?

Do you display calmess on the outside, but suffer from turmoil and distress on the inside?  Do you avoid risk, mask inner feelings, and compulsively seek control? Do you feel lonely even when you are surrounded by loved ones?

You may be suffering from “maladaptive overcontrol.” This can become a vicious cycle, where loneliness leads to more self-doubt, leading to more over-control.

  • Loneliness
  • Harsh self judgment
  • Chronic depression or anxiety
  • Anorexia Nervosa
  • Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD), and

Radically Open DBT (RO DBT Therapy) is a specialized therapy approach that offers a powerful, adaptable framework to help you build deeper connections, increase openness and receptivity to new experiences, and flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
