More About Cyndi Crowell

Cyndi Crowell (she/her/hers) is a dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Austin, Texas, with a strong commitment to mental health advocacy and connection with clients. Holding both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Social Work from Texas State University, Cyndi has cultivated a deep passion for helping individuals navigate their mental health challenges.

Her clinical journey began with a practicum at Ascension Seton Shoal Creek Hospital (SSCH), where she honed her skills in case management. This experience laid the groundwork for her subsequent full-time role at SSCH, where she worked extensively with both adults and adolescents dealing with a range of issues, including anxiety, PTSD, complex trauma, mood disorders, eating disorders, and psychotic disorders.

Facilitating both adolescent and multi-family DBT groups, Cyndi’s specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) commenced in the intensive outpatient program at Ascension Seton Behavioral Health. This training provided critical support to women who have experienced sex trafficking, sexual exploitation, and domestic violence. In addition to her DBT expertise, Cyndi is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a therapeutic approach that helps clients process traumatic memories in a gentle and supportive manner.

Deeply passionate about destigmatizing mental health, Cyndi believes in empowering individuals to recognize their strengths and potential for change. Cyndi’s clinical approach emphasizes the importance of client engagement and personal responsibility in the therapeutic process. She believes that when clients are dedicated to their growth and are willing to hold themselves accountable, they can make significant strides in their mental health journey. Cyndi also recognizes the vital role of a strong support system—whether from family, friends, or community resources—in facilitating meaningful change. Her commitment to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment helps clients navigate their challenges and achieve their goals.

Outside of her professional life, Cyndi enjoys a variety of activities that reflect her vibrant personality. With a soft spot for all critters, She cherishes her time with her beautiful pet huskies. Cyndi also loves traveling, watching movies, savoring new culinary experiences, reading, and spending quality time with friends and family.
