Overview of the Adult DBT® Skills Class

In our group skills class for adults, adults will learn skills that are not confined to your therapy sessions. We will arm you with the tools to improve your relationships, your communication effectiveness, and your emotional resilience.

Austin DBT Associates teaches these skills widely to the community and is known for our high quality courses.  We even teach other therapists these skills!

Everyone can all benefit from DBT® skills. Whether you’re struggling with a serious mental health issue or looking for some additional skills to solve a problem, these classes will help you build the life you want.

Alternative Skills Class: Adult RO-DBT® Skills

RO-DBT®  is short for Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy®. RO-DBT®  is an effective treatment for helping people manage excessive self-control. These people may hide or mask their emotions in front of others and struggle with problems like perfectionism or rigidity that cause fall out and disrupt the quality of their daily lives.

In this class, adults will learn skills to increase openness, flexibility and social connectedness. Many people who struggle to manage their emotions can identify with both DBT® and RO-DBT®  and may even vacillate between over and under self-control. Our DBT clinicians can help you identify which treatment would be the most effective option for you based on your own self-control tendencies.

“I found this company when I moved to Austin last year, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made for my mental health. I’ve seen my therapist almost every week since then, and I have improved so significantly in the past year, more than I’ve ever done with any other form of therapy or therapist in the 18 years.”
