Austin DBT Associates (ADBTA) is the leading DBT® therapy provider in Austin, TX, and the surrounding areas. We offer fully adherent DBT® counseling for adults, adolescents 12+, families, and couples.

Treatment is provided by expert clinicians who specialize in the complete model of DBT®, which includes individual therapy, skills classes, team consultation, and between-session phone coaching.

Our Executive Team

Penny Kruger is a faculty member at ADBTA. She is a Professional Clinical Counselor at Austin DBT Associates.

Penny Kruger

MSW, LCSW-S

Penny is intensively trained in both Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy. In 2006, she founded the first adult DBT Intensive Outpatient Program at Ascension Seton Behavioral Health in Austin, Texas. She acted as the Clinical Lead for this program until 2020, training and supervising many of the current practicing DBT clinicians in the Austin area.

Nicole has received extensive training in DBT and has been providing DBT to the Austin community for 14 years.

Nicole Lansbery

MA, LPC-S, LMFT

Nicole has received extensive training in DBT and has been providing DBT to the Austin community for 14 years. She enjoys learning and has also spent years studying and completing trainings in each of the following: Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, and Middelberg’s Systemic Training. In addition, Nicole has received training in Radically Open DBT (RODBT), SPACE (a treatment protocol for parents of anxious children), and New Ways for Families.

Chelsea Cohen serves as Director of Operations for ADBTA and as an adjunct faculty member in the School of Behavioral and Social Sciences at St. Edward’s University, teaching Abnormal Psychology.

In addition to serving as Director of Operations for ADBTA, Chelsea is an adjunct faculty member in the School of Behavioral and Social Sciences at St. Edward’s University where she teaches Abnormal Psychology. Chelsea enjoys training and supervising clinicians to provide adherent DBT and working with clients to identify how they can effectively utilize coping skills to build a life worth living.
