As a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) under the supervision of Penny Kruger, LCSW-S, Fernanda Marin (she/her/hers) is dedicated to providing compassionate and culturally sensitive mental health services. With a strong educational foundation in social work from Texas State University in San Marcos and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin, Fernanda has developed a clinical approach that empowers individuals to build healthy relationships grounded in their unique strengths and experiences.
Fernanda’s diverse clinical experience at Ascension Shoal Creek Inpatient Psychiatric Facility and her work with families and youth affected by domestic violence has shaped her commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all individuals, regardless of age, culture, sexual orientation, gender, or mental health challenge they face. She is certified in Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), Child and Family Stress Intervention (CFTSI), and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), ensuring that she can deliver evidence-based treatment approaches.
As a bilingual clinician, Fernanda is able to work with clients in both English and Spanish, providing an added layer of accessibility and support for individuals from diverse linguistic backgrounds. Originally from Mexico City, Fernanda infuses her vibrant cultural heritage into her clinical and personal life. Currently residing in Austin, Texas, she is passionate about making quality mental health services accessible to all individuals, acknowledging that every person deserves the right to receive the care they need to thrive. She’s honored to be a part of the ADBTA team, supporting clients in reaching their therapeutic goals.
In her free time, you will most likely find her spending time in nature and enjoying Austin with friends and family. She loves reading, paddle boarding, biking, hiking, or camping with her fiancé and their three dogs.
