Hena Hafizullah, MS, LPC-A (Texas) is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate supervised by Chelsea Cohen, LPC-S, and Clinical Network Coordinator at Austin DBT Associates. She provides comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to adolescents, young adults, and adults, focusing on building skills in emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Hena is passionate about supporting overachievers struggling with anxiety, as well as teens and young adults with ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and pervasive emotional dysregulation. She also works with individuals experiencing PTSD, bipolar disorder, and related mood, trauma, and anxiety disorders, where impulsivity and emotional intensity significantly impact functioning. Her approach is informed by both professional and personal lived experience, integrating DBT with a relational-cultural framework emphasizing connection, authenticity, and empowerment.
She is deeply committed to supporting clients impacted by intergenerational trauma, helping them identify and shift longstanding relational and behavioral patterns while building more effective ways of relating to themselves and others.
Hena earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and holds a bachelor’s degree in International Political Economy from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys exploring Austin with her two dogs, staying active, trying new restaurants, attending live music events, and traveling.
