About the Summer DBT Skills Intensive for Young Adults

Our Summer DBT® Skills Intensive for Young Adults (ages 18–25) in Austin is designed to build a foundation for emotional and relational success.  This is an in-person four-week program, taking place 3 hours per day, 2 days per week.  There are 8 sessions in total.  

Over the four weeks, participants will develop essential DBT® skills—including mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness—with a strong focus on applying these tools to real-life challenges and transitions.

These are skills they don’t teach in school!

DBT Skills Intensive for Young Adults in Austin - Get the Most Out of Summer

Our DBT® Summer Intensive is for young adults aged 18-25 in Austin, TX.  This DBT® Intensive program encompasses four core skill modules that form the foundation of DBT® Therapy for Adults:

  • Mindfulness – Learning to stay present and fully engaged in the moment without judgment.
  • Distress Tolerance – Building the ability to navigate intense emotions and challenging situations without resorting to harmful behaviors.
  • Emotion Regulation – Gaining tools to understand, manage, and respond to emotions in healthy and effective ways.
  • Interpersonal Effectiveness – Strengthening communication skills, setting boundaries, and fostering respectful, meaningful relationships.

With DBT Skills Intensive program, participants will learn to handle life’s challenges with greater resilience and confidence.

Details About Our DBT Summer Intensive Program

This summer DBT® Skills Intensive program includes twice weekly 3-hour sessions over 4 weeks. It will take place in person at the Austin DBT Associates office.  This is a cash-pay (direct pay) program, costing $1,500 for the program, including assessment. (Each participant should complete all 8 sessions over the 4-week period.)

Program Times:

  • Tuesday: 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
  • Thursday: 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

What to Expect in our DBT Skills Intensive

A 90-minute intake assessment is conducted by a licensed DBT® clinician.  During this time, the clinician will assess your history, needs, and goals in order to identify the best course of treatment. You will learn more about the DBT® Skills Intensive program.
