About

Shana Alexander is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - Board Certified (PMHNP-BC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor - Supervisor (LPC-S). After providing DBT counseling for six years with ADBTA, she is pleased to offer medication management services now.  Shana holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Biology from Sam Houston State University and a Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward’s University. Shana also graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Master of Science in Nursing. 

Shana completed her counseling practicum at Ascension Seton Behavioral Health, where she received intensive training in DBT. Since then, she has gained extensive experience across a variety of clinical populations, such as individuals struggling with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, homelessness, personality disorders, and individuals involved in the criminal justice system. Shana has also gained experience across an array of different modalities, including individual, family, couples, group, and community-based therapy. She is honored and excited to be able to use her experience and education to help those in need.

Shana enjoys spending time with her family and three wiener dogs in her spare time.
