Darian Salinas (She/Her/Hers) is a dedicated Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) supervised by Ayla Peret, LCSW-S, with a focus on empowering youth and adolescents. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science from Concordia Texas University followed by achieving her Master of Science in Clinical Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin.
Throughout her professional journey, Darian has gained invaluable experience in diverse settings. Her initial graduate internship took place in a school environment where she effectively provided integrated student support through case management, individual and group counseling, and essential assistance for students and their families. In her final graduate internship, at Youth Advocates Program Inc., she offered skills training to help families navigate distinctive challenges associated with mental health concerns. This role allowed her to work clinically with clients dealing with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, transitional stress, ADHD/ADD symptoms, trauma, disruptive behaviors, and self-harm.
Darian’s approach to therapy is both compassionate and empowering, rooted in the belief that every individual has the capacity for growth and change. By prioritizing authentic connections, she creates an environment where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. As a Latino woman with indigenous descent herself, she feels passionate about serving communities of color. Her commitment to serving communities of color reflects her deep understanding of the unique challenges they face, and her desire to break down barriers related to mental health stigma.
Originally from Austin, Texas, Darian lives with her partner and their gorgeous black Labrador, Raven. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, exploring new culinary experiences, binge-watching epic TV shows, and creatively engaging with loved ones through arts & crafts.
